Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, acting President of the Egyptian council of ministers this afternoon, witnessed the signing of an integrated project agreement for the establishment of a white sugar production plant from beets in the west of Minya governorate, Egypt, on an area of 181 acres, between the general body of the Agricultural Reconstruction and development projects and Al-Canal Sugar Company, a subsidiary of the UAE's Al Ghurair Group, in the presence of Dr. Sahar Nasr, Minister of Investment and International cooperation, Dr. Abdel Moneim Banna, minister of agriculture and land reclamation, and Khaled Badwy , minister of public business And G. Essam El Badawy, the Governor of Minya. 

This project came through negotiations by the Egyptian Ministries of Investment, international cooperation, Agriculture and public business with Al Guharair Group in the context of the implementation of the directives.

It is expected that the project will contribute to bridging the deficit by 75% of Egypt's Sugar Import, producing about 750 tons per year. 

According to the minister, this project is within the framework of the state's policy of providing investment opportunities by establishing integrated projects, aimed at increasing agricultural area and encouraging activities based on agricultural activity and complementary industries.
